Meeting Minutes
September 2, 2010
GAMPER'S - Moose Lake
7:00 pm

Meeting at Gampers, called to order by President Jim Gassert with 10 members present. Kevin Turnock, Dean Tegland, Phil & Dawn Lippo, Earl Romnes, Mel Johnson, Frank Turnock, Al Rinta and Jerry Stone.

Motion by Franklin/Al Rinta moved minutes be approved.

Treasurer’s report by Jim Gassert: Beginning Balance $16,556.06. Ending balance $14,962.54

Bills - Kangas $210 trail grading $2150 Mel Johnson/Phil Lippo approved the bills.

Trails - 70 mile report - Frank T - Big Sandy to Soo Grade project - nothing happening there at this point, and probably no progress for about 5 years. Kevin T reported on Lawler loops - smaller loop to north is closed because of work on the trail. Riders seem to be respecting these trails and staying on the trails.

Pine Co Roads - not going to open their roads, but going to open corridors County will spray calcium chloride on the dirt roads and we will do signage.

Christmas Party - January 8 in Cromwell. Will talk about this next meeting.

Someone took the Turnock Loop sign - 2' x 4' This needs to be replaced. Also need a couple of directional signs toward Lawler off the loop.

ATVA News - Picture and nice story on Rita. Also good publicity from opening of Lawler Loop in the Aitkin paper written by Kathleen Pakarinen.

Request has been sent to run the trail by the prison.

Club Ride - September 18 - Will ride the new Turnock trail. Start from Lawler at 10:00 am Jerry will pick up brats/beans/charcoal and we’ll picnic on the trail.

September 25 - Training class at Barnum Fairgrounds - 45 kids signed interest.

Frank/Kevin moved adjourned at 8:02.
