- Dean Weske was introduced to club members. He sponsors the sanctioned Grand Prix International Water Cross snowmobile water races in Moose Lake each summer, 40 to 60 racers participate. He talked about the program and told of the different races, etc. He is asking for volunteers to help with tickets, directions, etc., during the weekend of June 5 - 6. Anyone interested can contact Mike Freiberg.

- Frank gave report on Northwoods ATV Trail System meeting on May 4 at LLCC. The grand opening for the Lawler portion will be on June 30 at Jackson’s Hole. There will be senators, DNR Officials, county commissioners, etc in attendance as well as Northwoods Trail Oversite Committee members, club members and general public. Trail head kiosk will be in place, Kangas will donate a couple satellites for strategic placement on the “loops”, hopefully signs and maps will be done. Voyager Press had large tents to rent - $80 we set it up, $120 if they do. Motion by Mike second by Earl to have VP deliver and set up for $120. Carried. Club can put up banners, sell tickets, have other clubs - White Pine and Up-North Riders - hand out club info as well. Also will need club members to act as trail guides for anyone wishing to go out on the trail. There should be newspapers and television there as well.

- Trails - Warren graded the Soo Line almost as soon as Jim mentioned it to him, border to border.

- Community Service participants from the Corrections Facility have been clearing a trail alongside Co Rd 61 past Gampers. We need to cut stumps. Wood can be picked up and used by anyone wanting it. More work continues to be done

- Pine County Roads - Jerry attended a meeting in Pine City last week. Co Attorney ready to draw up a proposal. The City of Sturgeon Lake is in the process of defining an ATV Ordinance through the city to General Andrews, need to be 16 years old to ride on road, yield to all other traffic, posted speed limits, etc.

- The city of SL has requested the club help with the cost of signs. Motion by Jerry second by Earl to contribute not to exceed $500. Carried.

- Club ride June 5. Discussion help about changing to a different date, too many conflicts. Frank will be trail boss for the day around the new Lawler loop. Meet in Lawler at 10:00am.

- Soo Pit - new trail has been marked but a slightly different route than was planned. Conflict with some private property. Some trespass now on private land, perhaps can work out a deal with owner with fencing, signs, etc.

- Carlton County roads - hopefully can get a map marked with requested roads and go from there.

- Trail Openings - Aitkin County will open their trails on May 8 rather then the posted May 15, new Lawler loops open May 22.

- Business sponsor dues was reduced to $25 last fall. Business membership is down. Motion by Mel second by Mike to send a letter to local businesses with a “bill” for sponsorship. They would get advertising on our web site in return. Work on drafting a letter.

- Jerry reported the bridge behind the Holiday store had been repaired but the placement of railings made the bridge narrower and could not be used by snowmobiles or four-wheelers. Jerry talked to the manager of Market Place Foods and between them, the bridge was re-done a second time and it’s back to it’s original size and new condition.

-50/50 ATVAM tickets are here. See Rita after the meeting if you want to sell some.

Motion by Frank second by Jerry to adjourn. Carried.

Respectfully submitted, Rita Butterfield
