Old Business -

  • 70 mile trail update - Frank reports that Lawler loops should be sheared by now, rock and fill being hauled, frost is still an issue.  Solana loop possibly sheared now as well.  The next 70-mile trail  meeting is scheduled for 3/23/09 at the Itasca Co Fairgrounds, Trailhead Bldg., in Grand Rapids (This is different than discussed in meeting, initially stated it was at Long Lake, Palisade.) Information can be found on web site at www.dovetailinc.org

  • Turnock Trail - some maintenance needed.

  • Grant has been sent in and approved for $30,800.  Carlton County will get a larger share this year.

  • County roads - no action taken yet.

  • Cromwell Trail and Moose Lake to Dago Lake Trail - nothing new at this time.

  • ATV Patrol - Perhaps members can ride in areas of trail construction this spring to keep others from going in those areas.

  • Vests - We need more.  Rita to get.

New Business -

  • Packets for kids for ATV Training - Rita has some info to be included in packet of materials to be given to kids going through training.  Any other ideas appreciated.  Also, discussed not paying ATVAM memberships for kids this year, perhaps free membership in club for remainder of year. All agreed with this.  Purchase of compasses and clip links possible through Coleman Co., at reduced cost of approximately $2.50 for each person.  Motion by Dennis, second by Orv to purchase these items.  Rita also going to pursue possibility of getting small flashlights donated.

  • 50/50 tickets available.  Pete to get 1500 again this year.  Thank you, Pete, for taking care of this.

  • ATV Parade - Another attempt will be made in Silver Bay on June 13.
  • Roger talked about the raffle run being sponsored by White Pine Riders on June 27.  All invited.

  • Next meeting April 2 at Lawler.

There being no more business, motion by Phil, second by Pete to adjourn.  Carried.

Respectfully submitted, Rita Butterfield
