Gampers Supper Club - Moose Lake
August 7, 2008
7:10 p.m.
Present:Lenny Kroska, Phil Lippo, Jerry Graham, Leo Dahlberg, Pete Seelen, David Lehtola, Dick Huhta. Darwin & Grace Chester, Mel Johnson, Earl Romnes, Mike Freiberg, Jim Gassert, Al Rinta, Kevin Turnock and Rita Butterfield.
Motion by Darwin seconded by Mike to approve minutes of July 10 2008 as written. Carried.

Motion by Mike seconded by Darwin to approve treasurer’s report. Carried.
Bills presented for payment:
- $2150 for grading trails (dated 5/29/08)
- $162 insurance (bill expected within the next couple weeks, due Sept 1)
Motion by Dick seconded by Mike to pay bills as presented.
- Report on ride: August 2 ride from Lawler to Shovel Lake and back. Trail was good but dusty. Nice weather. Eleven machines.
- County Fair - Darwin and Grace will set up on Thursday. Schedule went around for sign-up. The new banners will be ready on Monday.
- Turnock Loop - The bridge is fixed. Per Pete, Frank is going to take care of the problem areas in trail.
- Soo Pit - Mike, Jim, Dean and Jerry went out to look at water laying on trail. Needs rock. Mike will find someone to haul in. Perhaps the County will go in an widen trails, cut brush on top of hill. Jim will attempt with tractor before calling the County Maintenance.
- Tax Information - Jim will get to H&R Block soon.
- DNR - Jim has been in contact regarding maps for fair.
- County Roads Request - Table until September
- Grading - County has removed berm in some places, left it in others . Call Jim if you find bad spots.
- Brown Road near Turnock Loop - Jeff Humphries, DNR, and Aitkin Co have closed a portion of old trail in the area to keep trucks, ATVs out.
- DNR - Joe Russell - wants club to write a grant proposal for trail from Moose Lake to General Andrews.
This was one of the earlier grant projects of the club but was not acted on. Trail would go as far as Dago Lake Road, would need bridge over creek coming out of Coffee Lake.
- ATV Fall convention is Onamia this year, Sept 19 - 21.
- Proposed Cromwell Trail - Dick had a map showing proposed area. Dick, Jerry and Phil to go out and look at one particular area of beaver dam. Come back with more ideas.
- Remember to turn in work logs.
- Mel reminded group that Aitkin County Posse is doing demonstrations at local functions.
- Rita invited the club members to White Pine Riders Pig Roast on August 31 1:00pm at McGrath.
- Next meeting September 4 at Gampers.
