Meeting Minutes
Denham Run - Denham
June 1, 2006
7:30 p.m.
Present: Jack & Cheryl Kop, Kevin Turnock,
Lenny Kroska, Denise Mikrot, Tarey Johnson, Jerry Stone, Mike Freiberg,
Dick Huhta, Harvey Ukura, Leo Dahlberg, Phil Lippo, Earl Romnes,
Al Rinta, Mel Johnson, Jim Gassert, Franklin Turnock, Darwin Chester,
Connie Skogman and Rita Butterfield.

Minutes of May 4 distributed and read. Motion by Frank second by
Lenny to approve. Carried.

Motion by Lenny second by Jack to approve. Carried.
Discussion on filling position of co-chair. There was a motion to nominate Franklin
but he declined nomination. Motion to nominate Kevin. Motion by Dick to close
nomination. Motion by Dick second by Franklin to approve nomination. Carried.
Old Business:
- ATV Training scheduled at Barnum Fair Grounds Saturday June 3. Mel, Al and
Earl will help out.
- Turnock Trail - Franklin states Aitkin Co is letting the bid out from Land
Dept.
- Mark Jacobs Aitkin Co Land Commissioner, wants another ATV Alliance mtg toward
the end of June. Would like to have 2 - 3 people from each club attend. Suggestion
was to hold it at Fireside again. This is a central location. Franklin to
- Jerry reported the local shop class can build a wooden outhouse for approx
$750. Ebel Rental cost is
$1200. New fiberglass units cost approx $600. Get firm prices for next meeting.
- Dick has 2 cement tables to be used in Soo pit. Darwin will make arrangements
to pick up.
- Mike and Jerry have done some signs in Moose Lake, not into the Pit yet Soon
to be done.
New Business:
- Orv is in hospital, had knee surgery today. Club to send flowers.
- Darwin does not have the 50/50 tickets yet, will contact ATVAM.
- Web Site - nothing new. Tarey reports emails picking up.
- Publicity - Lenny sends notices of meeting dates to approximately 8 different
papers.
- County Fair - table to next meeting. Still have time to organize committee.
- Spring Fever Days - Mary Collier dropped signs off with Jim that we used a
couple years ago. Anyone interested in riding in the parade can get them from
Jim.
- Aitkin Co Sheriff’s Posse - Setting up training, by-laws, will use horses,
ATVs, etc.
- Rita had some posters with meeting dates through the end of the year and the
Christmas dinner. No changes in schedule at this time.
- Jack suggested for upcoming rides the club pay for the food. Motion by Earl
second by Phil to reimburse for food. Carried.
- Darwin visited with Darlene Fuglestad Embroidery and discussed caps for the
club with name on them. Brought a couple to show as samples. Price is $15 each.
Motion by Connie to purchase caps, second by Leo. Carried. Darwin will order
10 of each. Ordering through Valley Printing is on hold.
- Legislation - new gas tax bill did not pass. Utility ATV legislation passed..
- Jim presented proposal from Bob Fodness regarding repair of existing trail
east of Hwy 23 between Duquette and Nickerson. No action at this time.
- Motion by Jack to adjourn, second by Tarey. Carried. Adjourned 8:45.
