Updates -
Turnock Trail - Frank reports the fence needs to be moved. He has all the necessary equipment and supplies to do so. Sunday October 22 at 10:00am was set to take care of this. Also need to determine necessary signing for spring (too late in the season now. Trails will close in a few weeks.) Perhaps this trail can be dedicated in memory of Rick Jonestown when it opens next spring.

Grants - Have approximate $3000 coming from the County after payment to the Highway Dept for work done. We will be submitting the balance of this years’ grant soon.
Soo Pit - Orv operated a dozer doing some clean up, leveling, etc., reports very little litter since the gates have been locked. We need more signs and posts there.

Outhouses - Approx $700 each. Jerry and Mike to work on paperwork to apply for grant from Polaris ro cover the cost of 3 or 4.

Nickerson Trail - Bob Fodness said the final amount of the trail rebuilding project was $4420. He showed before and after pictures to the group. Some club members rode this trail last month. Some problems with vehicle traffic on it.

Soo Line Trails - All trails have been groomed and in pretty good shape right now. Orv to contact the local DNR Office regarding grooming between the trestles so all trails are in good condition for snowmobiles.
Motion by Jerry, second by Jack, to request trails be groomed at least 3 times during the summer, carried.

Some repair is needed on one of the bridges, Jim to contact Milo, Land Commissioner.

Trail marker arrows have been stenciled on the routes into/out of Moose Lake. Frank stated that Aitkin Co is going to be doing some extensive trail signs next year.

Aitkin Co Parks Commission toured the Lawler to Arthyde area. Foresters believe they can open logging road in vicinity of Aitkin/Carlton Co line. We will bring maps back to the November meeting so all can see proposed area.

Work logs - reminder to turn in any time to Jim.

Youth Training - No new classes scheduled for Fall.

Annual ride from Jackson’s Hole - Proceeds of this ride go back into the community, large numbers of riders. Perhaps next year, club members would be willing to help out, giving out info, advising riders, etc
Motion by Dick, second by Mel, to help out Aitkin Co., either with signs or policing. Carried.

Alliance Meeting - Next one will be either first or second week in Dec, Frank will arrange at Fireside. This meeting will be open to the public, Bob Moore from the Grand Rapids DNR Office will be invited. Date will be provided next month.

ATVAM Map Project - A letter was received from ATVAM seeking donations for a new map showing state-wide ATV trails, hopefully ready by spring 2007. Motion by Darwin, second by Leo, to send $200. Carried. We will include copies of our local maps with the check.

Discussion on membership dues. No changes.

Roger Olson, White Pine Riders, thanked the club for help with the training at McGrath in August.

Next meeting November 2 at Cromwell Pavilion.

Motion by Leo, second by Lenny to adjourn. Carried.

Respectfully submitted by Rita Butterfield.
