cash box with individual compartments for bills.
An individual from Duluth won the GPS (name will be
provided later). Following the ATVAM Fall Convention,
Lenny will provide the local papers with names of
prize winners.
Grading Trail - Trail will be graded to trestles,
and to KR bridge. Bill to be sent to club. Aitkin
Co trails in good shape. Mel reported riding to
Remer/Boy River area - trail good. Cass County
has also graded their trails. Hole in trail near

Fall Ride - After discussion Sunday October 9th,
meet at Duquette Store at 11:00, ride Nemadji at
12N.
Parking available north of the store. Leo reports
he and others are riding to Danbury WI on 9/24
- 53 mile ride from Duquette, stay over and return
following day. Nice ride. No motel vacancies left.
Aitkin Co Land Commissioner - Frank has invited Mark Jacobs to attend,
scheduled for November meeting. Rita to send confirmation letter.
70 mile Trail - Early spring we received
a letter from DNR regarding 70-mile trail development
RFP. Frank reports this 70 miles of trail went to Becker
County.
Christmas Party - Set for January 14, Dick to contract
Russ Dahl again. Members feel they should pay for
own dinner, not use club funds. Set-ups provided
as last year, no dance.
Mel recently visited Alaska, had opportunity to go
on ATV ride in remote area. Leo recently vacationed
in the Black Hills, also ATVing. (Web site for ND
is www.deepcreekadventures.com.) Both had good time.
Discussion opened on how to best
use our grant money. It is only there because of all the hard work, volunteer
hours of club members. Funds should be spent throughout
the membership area if possible.
Some possible projects include:
a) Dead Moose Trail
b) Dead Moose Loop - Laajala Trail
c) Connecting trails from Willow River/Sturgeon Lake
to trail
d) Moose Lake - trail direction painted on pavement
More projects may be suggested in the future. Frank
recommended the club determine a treasury “cushion” before
trying to accomplish too many projects. Rita to bring
info to next meeting regarding expenses. Dick suggested
the club could also contact the CCEDAC for additional
funding.
Caps - Dick to further pursue the cost of caps with
sewn logo. He did purchase 20 caps for folks working
at the Fair. The remainder were handed out at this
meeting. This was nominal cost.
Meeting Reminder - October meeting will be at Kabinn’s
in Kettle River.
Motion by Phil, seconded by Jerry to adjourn.
Adjourned at 8:45pm.
