Gamper’s - Moose Lake
September 2, 2004
7:00 - 8:30 pm
Present: Orv Evensen, Lenny Kroska, Leo Dahlberg,
Phil Lippo, Dick Huhta, Jack & Cheryl Kop, Mel Johnson, Jim Gassert, Don
Dudley, Leo & Rita Butterfield, Karen and Jim Mueller.
Minutes of August 5 distributed and read. Motion by Jerry, second
by Lenny to approve. Carried.

Motion by Jack second by Orv to approve treasurer report. Carried.
Old Business:
- Raffle tickets. All have been accounted for and last remaining
4 books will be sent in. Total of 1109 sold.
- County Fair - The day before the Fair, DNR
determined they couldn’t
be with our group however Kathy Larson and Lee Alderson of Cloquet
did come and spend Saturday with us. Only got a couple new memberships
signed up but gave out lots of info.
- ATV Instructor Training - Scott Staples is
working with Sheriff’s
Department to offer instructor training being held tonight. Rick
Jennissen is attending.
- Work Log - Reminder to complete a log of all hours you have
done any kind of work in the Pit. It is all billable to the
grant.
- Signs for the Pit - The Co Hwy Department Sign Shop will do
up the signs for the entrance to the Pit. Subcommittee will
meet to determine wording. Shooting not allowed April 1 through
Oct 1.
- Work Party - Will meet at the Pit Saturday 9/11 at 9:00am to
put up posts/signs. No schedule, just show up to work. (Rita
to send post cards for work party and trail ride)
- Cass County - Mel asked if Jim had any contact as yet with
Cass County regarding condition of Soo Line under their jurisdiction.
Not at this time.
- Kettle River Trail - Very rough at this time.
New Business:
- Rita presented article from Aitkin Independent Age newspaper
regarding the Midwest ATV Club out of Hill City - Park X (Quadna
Mountain).
- Bad wash out on Trail south of Moose Lake. Ribbons have been
put up. Milo Rasmussen, County Land Commissioner, will be notified.
- Club Ride - September 25 - meet at Duquette Store 11:00am,
ride Nemadji Forest, bring own lunch.
- Rory Olson Memorial Ride - September 19 -
Starts at Jackson’s
Hole.
- Folks are questioning trail access in the Willow River/Sturgeon
Lake areas. We need to start some meetings with city councils
in the neighboring towns regarding access to trails. How do
we get there from here?
- Law Enforcement and DNR staff will be invited to the Nov 4
meeting in Cromwell.
Motion by Jerry, seconded by Don to adjourn. Carried.
