Leo & Rita Butterfield.

Old Business:
- Soo
Line - Aitkin County - Don unable
to contact anyone from Up-North Riders as of yet. We need to follow-up with
getting together with Up-North Riders and Mille Lacs Driftskippers
and attend meetings together to discuss year round use of Aitkin
County Soo Line. Up-North Riders meet this Saturday at
Eagle Point north of McGregor on Big Sandy Lake.
- Grant -
Joe Alberio presented an overview of the grant. He also stated
that ours was the first grant received to follow the new
set of review guidelines. There is a meeting scheduled for
next Thursday. Hopefully, we will get some new info at that
time. Both of the other grants - Trail Maintenance and
trail into City of Moose Lake- are in the Grand Rapids area office
at this time.
- By-Laws
Change - Copies made available
at January 8 mtg indicating changes. One to change the fiscal year and the other to
correct some errors in numbers of directors. Motion by
Mel second by Jack to approve. Carried.
New Business
1) Safety
Vests - Orv purchased vests from
Minnesota Industrial at a cost of $87. Lettering done by Community
Printing (and $11 purchase of card-stock paper for mtg reminder
cards) totaled $43.76. Orv donated $50 toward purchase of vests. Thank
you, Orv.
2) Correspondence
a. ATVAM
ATV Instructor training - March 20
b. Letter
from DNR in response to Darwin Chester’s letter
c. Sample
letter written by Darwin Chester to legislators
d. Sword’s
14th annual Poker Run
3) Non-profit
status - Need to pay a fee to IRS of $150, Jeff Schafer
presented bill of $150.
4) Mel reported
condition of trails in Lawler area. One place is especially
bad, deep hole. Trail groomer has not
gone out recently. Mel also reported that Roger Howard, Aitkin
Co Parks, will attend possibly April mtg.
5) Meeting in
Rutledge to discuss use of forest trails, scheduled for 4/14 6
- 9pm.
6) Don showed
map he has been working on, with proposal for trail addition connecting
the north and south Soo Line routes in the area of Hwy 65. Is
not an easy situation.
Next meeting March 4. Motion by Orv seconded by Jack to
adjourn. Carried. Meeting adjourned 9:00pm.
