Kevin was at meeting to talk about some recent conversations, etc. Tom Danger, Trails and Waterways, has been in contact with the local DNR regarding a trail into the city of Moose Lake. There has been much conversation on this. Kevin’s questions to the club are:

  1. What is the club’s wishes pertaining to ATVing in the city?
  2. Does the club feel a need to use any part of the existing trail system?

Ideal location is the east side of the Munger trail from the City Garage to just behind Art’s Cafe. Kevin feels this would be workable, however would require hearings, etc., and a change in the trail plan. It does seem to be the most logical location for a trail with the least amount of work. Motion by Jim second by Dick that Kevin pass this info on to Tom Danger. Motion carried.

Kevin said the grant is just waiting for signatures in the Grand Rapids Office, then it goes on to St. Paul.

Dago Lake Road is being repaved. Suggest letter be written to Pine Co officials, asking them to support ATV use along the ditches and perhaps ask them to level the outer slope for ATVs. Motion by Jim seconded by Don we write such letter. Motion carried.

Old Business:
Posse - Dave said he is not ready with his info, and we have not heard back from Kevin on the east side.

Tarey Johnson reports a mess with transferring the web site. It appears to have been “parked”, perhaps because of confusion when he first attempted to move it. He has been in contact with several others and there is really no explanation why we are stuck. All in agreement if no progress by next “E” Board Meeting, Tarey can start with a new site all together.

Lenny reported the ride of Sept 20 would have had better participation if we would have gotten the info out on the web site. The weather was perfect, the trail was not bad, and the food was good. There was a total of 17 riders, picked up 2 new memberships and Lenny donated $41 back to the club. Thank you Lenny.

Talked more about the Mud Bog at Cromwell. Their Harvest Committee won’t meet again until after January 1 so we have a couple more meetings to discuss and determine if we want to take this project on.

Rita passed around the ARDC news letter with the article regarding that organization working with the DNR and local ATV clubs regarding trails. Have attempted to contact him since last week, will try again, to see if he has anything to offer the club, or vice versa.

Jim and Jerry working on the new grant for trail maintenance.
Moose Lake Chamber will have a 4-sided kiosk for maps of all kinds - snowmobiling, Munger trail, etc. Chamber folks will be in contact with Kevin. We want to get ATV stuff out there as well.

Correspondence - ATVAM has fall legislative conference coming up on October 25 at McQuoids in Isle. Darwin or Orv may attend.
The meetings - Nov 6, Dec 4 and Jan 8 will be held in Cromwell Pavilion.

Motion by Dick, seconded by Lenny to adjourn at 8:35. Carried.
