There was a meeting with 5 area DNR representatives. They were informed of the need for a member of the DNR to be present at all club meetings.

The DNR has issued warnings to ATV riders, but not many tickets have been given out.

There have been problems of ATVs riding on the Grant-in Aid snowmobile trails.

There have been complaints of citizens closing the ditch access from I35 to Sturgeon Lake. The Pine County Commissioner was contacted regarding this issue. The DNR is interested on working with the club on fixing this.

Aerial photos of the Soo Pits were brought to the meeting. There is more than 300 acres of county land there. The County and State have agreed in making this a riding area with trails and challenge course. There are also 2 lakes in this area, one of which could have a picnic area. A land survey needs to be done. The DNR is willing to do the environmental assessment and Grant-in Aid application if the club wants to proceed with this project. The work should be started before it snows. A motion made by Dick Huhta, seconded by Jack Kopp to make the Soo Pit project and the ATV trail from the city of Sturgeon Lake crossing over I35 to Sturgeon Lake, a Grant-in-Aid project. Motion carried.

Orv Evenson volunteered to help trail manager, Jack Kopp with this project.

There is a need for a parking area on the westside of I35 at the Sturgeon Lake exit. The DNR will be contacted regarding this issue.

Trails update given by Orv Evenson.

The DNR has given large wall sized maps to the club, of the Nemadji and the St. Andrews State Forests. These will be used to keep track of current and updated trails. Jim Gassert will check into getting copies made of these maps.

There are complaints of signs on ATV trails of not being consistent. On one end of the trail, sign states "ATVs allowed" on the other end of the trail, "No ATVs allowed". The DNR will be contacted regarding this problem.

Publicity update given by Len Kroska.

There are 2 club rides planned for the fall. Denham Run September 14th and OutPost 23 October 12th.

We will meet at 11:00am, leave at noon and return by 6:00pm. There will be food upon our return.
