Meeting Minutes
Moose Lake, MN
June 6, 2002
7:0O p.m.
Meeting called to order at 7:00pm by Jim Gassert.
OLD BUSINESS
Minutes from the May 2nd meeting were read by Rose Anthony. Minutes
stand approved.
Carlton County has accepted to be sponsoring agency for the ATV
Club.
Membership cards will be sent as soon as the ATV Club name is
chosen.
Executive Board minutes were read by Dave Wright.
Membership dues will be due annually on June 1st.
The State is donating a trail sweeper to Carlton County which
will donate to the ATV Club.
A full Treasurers report will be given the next mtg.
Recommendation to send ATVAM a check for dues after the ATV Club
name is chosen. Motion made by Connie Skogman, seconded by Ted
Sarri. Motion carried.
Recommendation for ATVAM rep. is tabled until more information
can be obtained. At the July mtg. volunteers will be called for.
Recommendation for ATV Club name.
Soo Line Riders, Evergreen, Soo Line Connectors, Northern Lights
Discussion followed and a list of ATV Club names were read. Northern Lights
is already in use and needs to be removed from our list.
Recommendation to add EVERGREEN P.A.C. (Pine Atkin Carlton) to list of names.
Motion made by Ted Sarri, seconded by Dick Huhta. Motion carried.
Motion made by Ted Sarri, seconded by Mike Snell to suspend Roberts Rules of
Order for this mtg. so a name for the ATV Club can be decided tonight. Motion
carried.
sA unanimous vote for EVERGREEN P.A.C. ATV Club.
NEW BUSINESS
Publicity report given by Len Kroska.
The 1st ATV Club social will be held June 22nd @ Denham Run. A $2.00 donation
for food and cash drawings. Meet @ 11:00am leave by noon and return around
6:00pm. The destination will be Red Top.
Recommendation to purchase website will be tabled until the next
mtg. Ted Sarri and Amy Snell to meet to gather more information.
Jim Gassert will check with Moose Lake Chamber of Commerce to have
ATV Club listed on their website. This address will be used for
now for the ATV Club,

Moose Lake Police Dept. has requested a mtg with the DNR to clarify
ATV rules in the city. A Club member will attend this mtg.
Jim Gassert attended the Carlton County Land Management mtg.
State Forest trails are now open.
No travel on trails with water on them.
No cross-country travel allowed, must ride on designated trails.
Contact DNR for more information.
In Atkin and Pine Counties, ATVs are not allowed on the Soo Line between Nov.1st-Apr.30th.
Volunteers called for checking into riding during those months. Dave Wright
and Jim Gassert volunteered.
Safety Issuses
A child under the age of 12 can ride in front of adult.
Ted Sarri volunteered to check on the need for liability insurance
for the ATV Club.
Dick Huhta volunteered to check into a "Hold Harmless Agreement"
Recommendation for Trail Projects.
Small projects- Try and link the Soo line trail to the General Andrews State
Forest and to the Nemadji State Forest. Adopt 1/8 -1/4 mile of the Munger
Trail behind the Moose Lake Businesses.
Any projects on state or county land have to be brought to the DNR.
A donation of $81.00 was made from OutPost 23 annual mud run event.
A thank you card will be sent.
The next 3 mtg. Will be held at Denham Run Bar and Grill. ( July
11th, Aug. 1st, Sept. 5th)
All members will be sent reminders, either by postcard or by e-mail.
Motion made by Shawn McLevis, seconded by Mike Snell to adjourn
the meeting at 9:00pm. Motion carried.
